Michael Murphy is co-owner of OrthoPTic Rehab Clinic of Metairie. Mike is a graduate of Louisiana State University Medical Center, with a B.S. in Physical Therapy (‘79). Mike is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. Mike joined Edwin “Bubba” Porche in founding OrthoPTic Rehab Clinic of Metairie in 1999.
Prior to making the move to Metairie, Mike worked 19 years in the River Parishes in private practice at St. James Parish Hospital and an out-patient clinic in LaPlace. He worked extensively with the sports programs of all schools in the River Parish area as well as general physical therapy. Mike’s background in sports medicine includes 4 years working as an athletic trainer at LSU, under the direction of the legendary Dr. Marty Broussard. Since moving to Metairie, Mike has worked with local high school athletes in rehabilitation, and continues as team Physical Therapist for St. Charles Catholic High School. Mike has developed an expertise not only in working with athletes, but with patients of all ages and all orthopedic problems. He brings a contagious enthusiasm to physical therapy, with hands on care and an expert knowledge in orthopedic rehabilitation.
